In the 2022–2026 FEMA Strategic Plan, FEMA has set out an ambitious goal of leading the whole community in climate resilience. Join the National Center for Disaster Preparedness and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region 2 National Preparedness Division at the Climate Resilience Roundtable for an event dedicated to exploring disaster resilience in a changing climate. At this event, engage and network with peers, stakeholders, and experts in thoughtful discussions, share insights, and collaborate on actionable strategies to enhance resilience in the face of escalating climate-related challenges.
As climate change impacts the frequency and severity of various natural disasters in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, the need for coordinated, evidence-based approaches to disaster resilience has never been more urgent. This roundtable will include discussions on climate change and community-based best practices, such as the development of resilience hubs.
Whether you’re in higher education, a policymaker, a researcher, or a practitioner in climate change or disaster management, this roundtable will provide a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding, exchange ideas, and contribute to the advancement of a more resilient nation.
We look forward to your support and commitment to improving emergency management. If you have any other questions, please contact us at ncdptraining@columbia.edu.
