In the 2022–2026 FEMA Strategic Plan, FEMA sets out an ambitious goal of leading the whole community in climate resilience. Join the National Center for Disaster Preparedness and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), National Preparedness Division, Region 2, at the Climate Resilience Roundtable for an event dedicated to exploring disaster resilience in climate change. At this event, engage and network with peers, stakeholders, and experts in thoughtful discussions, share insights, and collaborate on actionable strategies to enhance resilience in the face of escalating climate-related challenges.
As climate change intensifies the frequency and severity of natural disasters in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, the need for coordinated, evidence-based approaches to disaster resilience has never been more urgent. This roundtable will include discussions on climate change and the disaster preparedness system, Resilience Hubs, and more.
Whether you’re in higher education, a policymaker, a researcher, or a practitioner in climate change or disaster management, this roundtable provides a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding, exchange ideas, and contribute to the advancement of resilient societies.
We look forward to your support and commitment to improving emergency management to build a better-prepared nation. If you have any other questions, please contact us at ncdptraining@columbia.edu.
