Thibodaux High School is located in the Northwestern corner of Louisiana’s Lafourche Parish.  With approximately 1,400 students, Thibodaux High’s mission is to actively facilitate the academic and social development of all students, a philosophy that parallels Louisiana’s mission to prepare all students to be college and/or career ready.

The 2014-15 school year is Thibodaux’s first year as a SHOREline Chapter.  The program is facilitated by Ms. Lilah Landry, who facilitated SHOREline at South Lafourche High School during the 2013-2014 school year. Deep in the heart of Cajun country where the bayous are central to traditional ways of living, the students at Thibodaux High are no strangers to the impact of disaster. In the current academic year, the SHOREline students will explore the ways that disasters impact the community and its ecology, and will develop solutions they can share with others.

For the 2014-2015 school year, the Thibodaux team has begun looking at each of the communities that feed into their high school. While the communities a vastly different for the most part, they are looking for the common problems that exist. The team will spend the remainder of their year developing a project that addresses their findings.
